Tourist Visa and Registration RequirementsAll foreign nationals travelling to Russia must be in possession of a visa, valid for the duration of their stay, issued by a Russian Embassy or Consulate. To obtain such a visa the tourist has to have an invitation from a travel agency registered with the Consular Department of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, together with a confirmation voucher, indicating that accommodation arrangements have been made. A tourist visa can be issued for a maximum of 30 days.
Immigration CardOn arrival all foreign nationals are required to complete an immigration card in duplicate, indicating their passport details, length of stay and details of their host organization. One copy is retained by passport control, the second copy by the traveller. This card is returned to passport control on departure from Russia,
RegistrationRegistration is required for all foreign nationals staying for 3 or more days. It is normally dealt with by your hotel or inviting agency. To obtain registration a copy of the individuals passport, visa and immigration card are required. The details are entered onto a computerized form which is presented to the AVIR (police passport office) where the forms are checked, stamped and signed. Individuals not registered may be fined.

To Obtain a Russian Tourist VisaThe following documents should be submitted to the Russian Embassy or Consulate to obtain a visa to enter Russia:
- Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages. (Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure from Russia)
- Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed.
- One/Two passport-size photos signed on reverse *
